Neutron-neutron effective interactions of Skyrme type are used to study
the magnetic susceptibility of a uniform gas of neutrons at densities in
the range of gravitationally stable neutron stars. A ferromagnetic
transition results at a density around 1.5 times the equilibrium density
of symmetric nuclear matter.
