Solar Microwave Bursts: Magnetic Fields

Scientific paper

The observation of a microwave burst with multiple impulses which occurred on Oct. 2, 1993 has been analyzed. The authors suggest that this impulsive event may be composed of multiple impulse components superimposed on a slow burst background. Based on the spectral analyses, the magnetic field strength and information for high energy electrons were obtained for the first time by using the authors' formula for coronal magnetic field diagnostics. The results are given.
