The modulus and longitudinal component of the surface magnetic field of a star are constructed applying the model of artificially introduced magnetic charges with their superposed potentials that are spatially distributed in the stellar interior. In the dipole approximation the expression for the mean longitudinal magnetic field given by the proposed model is of the same form as obtained previously by another authors. Such straight-forward calculations of the magnetic field allow one to reconstruct most of possible magnetic field configurations on the stellar surface.
