Scientific paper

Zeeman observations of 11 bright DA white dwarfs on the 6-meter
telescope are given. No magnetic fields are detected on them, and the
corresponding upper limits on mean magnetic fields are a few kGs. The
method of observation using the hydrogen magnetometer and ways of
improving its penetrating capacity are described.
