Cepheus A is an OH maser source with a clear Zeeman pattern in its OH mainline spectrum at 1665 and 1667 MHz. High-sensitivity spectra, taken over a 10-yr time span show that the Zeeman splitting is decreasing at a rate of 0.4 per cent yr-1. This is interpreted as evidence of magnetic-field decay in the OH maser regions, probably associated with expansion of the gas around a young star.
