The morphological structure of Magellanic galaxies (Irr I) is investigated and a classification scheme is established. In addition, the kinematics and dynamics of the Large Magellanic Cloud as the nearest and best known example of a Magellanic-type galaxy are examined. The velocity fields of the LMC are interpreted and a mass model of the LMC is examined.
