In this paper, we report the results from initial macroparticle simulations of particle transport in the LEDA beam halo experiment at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Given the same Courant-Snyder parameters and rms emittances, the initial distributions with different shapes predict different beam profiles in the transport system. The simulation is fairly successful in reproducing the measured matched-beam profiles at nine locations of transport channel when an initial distribution generated by simulation through the RFQ is used. The qualitative trend of the emittance growth as a function of increasing mismatch factor and beam current have also been predicted in the simulations.
