Due to the smaller angular size of its stars, its greater mass, and the
favorable geometry of its nearly edge-on disk, M31 offers interesting
advantages in the search for gravitational microlensing by massive
condensed halo objects (MACHOs). These advantages and the techniques
which can be used to exploit them are discussed here.
