Lyman Alpha Sources, Redshifts, Emission-Line Gas Clouds
Scientific paper
We report the result of first systematic search for Lyman alpha blobs (LABs), giant emission-line gas clouds at high redshift. In the large-scale structure of emission-line galaxies at z=3.1, we discovered more than 30 LABs each of which extends 30-200 kpc in physical scale. LABs at high-redshift may contain proto-galaxies in their gas cooling phase.
