System study of lunar exploration by a polar orbiter mission using remote sensing technique is proposed. The objectives of this mission are to make a complete global survey of the moon's physical and chemical properties and also develop the technical side of deep space exploration in Japan. The study is mainly consisted of following two parts. (1) Orbit analysis of lunar Orbiter by computer simulation and setting up the mission profile that satisfies the above objectives. (2) Investigation of spacecraft (Orbiter) systems and remote sensors; Fluorescent X-ray spectrometer, Spectro stereo imager, Reflectance spectrometer, Gamma ray spectrometer, Magneto meter, and Radio altimeter.
