The contribution focuses on the 400 kV accelerator which will be
installed in the underground laboratory of the Laboratori Nazionali del
Gran Sasso (Italy) in the year 2000. Special emphasis will bes put on
the properties of the accelerator and the gamma detector systems giving
high detection efficiency and low background. .
