Longitudinal variations of the zonal and meridional winds, at altitudes from 30 to 80 km in the Northern Hemisphere, are considered using Soviet rocket results and satellite data. Model altitude-latitude cross-sections for the 0-180-deg meridian and the 90 deg E-90 deg W meridian are presented for January conditions when stratospheric warmings can develop.
