Longitudinal variations of Delta f0F2 in the Northern Hemisphere for a large number of storms are analyzed with the aim of verifying the hypothesis of the role of thermospheric winds in the formation of the f0F2 disturbance pattern at midlatitudes in different seasons. It is shown that, in winter, longitudinal variations of Delta f0F2 are primarily observed, while in summer negative disturbances encompass the entire hemisphere only in half the cases.
