In the preceeding parts of this work (1976 and 1977), the problem of linear waves in a radiating and scattering grey medium was studied using Whitham's method and the effect of a transverse magnetic field on the waves was investigated. The present paper examines the effects of a nontransverse magnetic field on the linear waves and shows the results obtained in parts I and II to be valid for such a field. The only difference is associated with the effects of the field on slow and fast acoustic waves.
