Expressions for linear and quadratic limb-darkening coefficients that satisfy various desirable conditions for light-curve synthesis applications are developed. Using new computations of the emergent fluxes and specific intensities, theoretical limb-darkening coefficients at 11 wavelengths are derived for the Kurucz (1979) model atmosphere grid. The adequacy of low-order polynomial approximations to the limb-darkening law is discussed as a function of wavelength and effective temperature.
