Stars: Oscillations, Stars: Post-Agb, Shock Waves

We have performed linear and nonlinear modelling of the pulsating post-AGB star SAO 96709 (=IRAS07134+1005=HD56126). A recent spectroscopic analysis of this object gives interesting information on the atmospheric dynamics and propagation of shock waves, providing a good test of pulsational models. We show that adopting the photospheric and spectroscopic parameters inferred for this object, one can reproduce the main features observed and reconcile the presence of relatively strong shock waves with small variations of the light curve.
