A global analysis is made of the conic T and S types of periodic symmetric second species solutions of the three body problem. Input-output equations are derived on the basis of the Breakwell-Perko matching theory, and a linear description is provided for an arc of a second species solution which starts far from the moon, approaches it closely, and then finishes far from it. The analysis is illustrated with three examples, and the orbits are plotted in each case. A third type of solutions is found in the transition between the conic T and S types, and it is noted that another matching theory must be constructed for their analysis.
