Solar line-blocking coefficients for the wavelength region between 4300 and 6200 A are derived from observational data contained in a recent photometric atlas of the solar spectrum. The technique for defining the solar continuum is outlined, apparent blocking coefficients are determined for 10-A intervals, and intrinsic blocking coefficients are obtained by reducing the apparent values for effects of telluric absorption lines. The results are compared with those of several previous studies of line blocking in the solar spectrum.
