The growth of a planet embryo with a feeding zone expanding with the increase in mass of the embryo is studied. An upper limit for the mass of the planet and the width of the feeding zone is obtained for the case when growth is not restricted by the presence of neighboring planets. For the terrestrial planets, these limits are close to the present-day masses of the planets and the distances between them.
