Light element synthesis in Barker's cosmological models has been computed. It has been found that no production in coherence with observations is possible unless the present deceleration and density parameters are related by q0 = Ω0/2, which constitutes a set of zero measure in the space of current values of the dynamical functions of the models. In this case, a bound on ω0 has been found which is much more stringent than those deduced from solar system experiments or binary pulsar data.
