The possibility of deriving the latitude dependence of the total electron content in a vertical column from observations of the differential Doppler shift is investigated experimentally. Results of two diurnal measurement series obtained at the Verkhnetulomskaya station are presented, and the diurnal variation of the latitudinal profile is described. Results of calculations of the electron content in the ionosphere based on observations at one and two stations are compared.
