A method has been developed to extract information about the shape of point distributions (photons registered by a detector, galaxy positions making up large-scale structure). An explorative application has been made to the three well-known slices of the Universe from the CfA redshift survey, which brings out the bubbly and filamentary structure of the galaxy distribution in a promising way.
