The problem of interpretation of observational data on large-scale peculiar velocities of galaxies in cosmological models with random Gaussian density fluctuations is considered. A new model of peculiar velocity field in the region R < 70 h-1Mpc around the Local Group is presented: the peculiar velocities are the result of gravitational action of Hydra-Centaurus supercluster on the background of large-scale (λ > 300 h-1Mpc) cosmological velocity fluctuations with the rms amplitude ≡300 km/s. The existence of such large-scale fluctuations requires additional power in the power spectrum of density fluctuations P(k) on the scales λ > 3×102h-1Mpc. The present-day experimental limits on the cosmic microwave background temperature anisotropy on a scale of few degrees separate the preferential scale for additional power ≡104h-1Mpc.
