We will place constraints on the nature of the dark matter and events in the early Universe by measuring the slope of the mass fluctuation power spectrum P(k) in the linear regime, 10-25hmpc. The mass fluctuations are detected by the weak gravitational lensing distortions of galaxies: we will image sections of sky which subtend 25hmpc at the distance of the lenses, and average the shapes of the 120,000 galaxies brighter than B=24 in each such square to measure the shear induced by large-scale structure. These measurements are free of the difficulties of other probes of P(k), and are also free of most of the calibration difficulties of other weak lensing studies. Assuming we get good weather, this will be the last observing run needed for this project. Analyses of previous weak lensing data using the BTC are now detecting weak shears as required for this project.
