The spectrum of ZrS, carrier of the Keenan bands, has been studied in the laboratory using a microwave discharge as a light source. The wavelength region 6400 - 14,000 A has been recorded under various resolutions. At least five systems of electronic transitions can be discerned among nore than 35 observed bands. The Keenan bands are the most dominant features in the spectrum. Vibrational assignments and the ground-state internuclear distance are given.
