The rest frequencies for the rotational transitions of the cyanamide molecule (NH2CN) in the ground state and the lowest vibrational (NH2 inversion) state were calculated from a study carried out with a conventional 80 kHz Stark-modulated spectrometer with a 30-cm long parallel-plate absorption cell. The measured spectrum of the molecule is extended to 120 GHz. In the observed spectrum of NH2CN, the transitions for the ground state and for the first excited inversion state are perturbed (by Coriolis-type interactions between these states) from their usual centrifugal distortion-corrected asymmetric rotor positions. The absolute energies and Einstein A coefficients are determined for all measured transitions (up to J = 8) for both states under consideration.
