The J = 1--0 transition of AlH was measured in the 387 GHz frequency region with a submillimeter-wave spectrometer combined with a heat-pipe cell made of alumina. The AlH molecule was generated by a DC-glow discharge in a mixture of aluminum vapor and H2. The observed rotational transitions showed hyperfine structure, due to the aluminum nucleus, and their frequencies were precisely measured for astronomical use. The rotational constant and electric quadrupole coupling constant were precisely determined.
