We have optically identified over twenty new candidate supernova remnants (SNRs) and larger superbubbles in the Small Magellanic Cloud, based on their high [S II] to Hα \ ratios in optical emission-line images taken as part of the Magellanic Cloud Emission-Line Survey (MCELS; see accompanying paper by Winkler et al.). A few of these are counterparts to extended X-ray sources identified in the ROSAT survey of the SMC (Haberl et al. 2000). We present here images and photometry of many of the SNR candidates as well as of several previously known remnants in the SMC.
