We present the results of a simulation of an axisymmetric (2.5-dimensional), magnetized Herbig-Haro jet. The parameters are chosen for a typical collimated outflow from a young stellar low-mass object. We show that the nose-cone feature of 2D MHD jets critically depends on the magnetic field topology of the precollimation mechanism. The most prominent features of our model jet are knot-like structures along the jet axis which develop in the foremost part of the jet. Shocks associated with these internal knot-like structures mimic bow-shock like features as seen in Herbig-Haro flows.
