A comprehensive study of Kiso UV-excess galaxies is presented on the basis of their spectroscopic, photometric, radio, and infrared observations. The luminosity and spatial distribution of the galaxies are derived from the data as well as physical properties of individual objects. It is shown that they probably constitute a subsample of field galaxies in the starburst phase. The Kiso survey collects efficiently active galaxies of various morphological types and luminosity classes.
