We describe our efforts to understand large-scale (10's-100's kpc) relativistic jet
systems through observations of the highest-redshift quasars (z>3-4). The
currently favored models to explain the X-ray emission from such systems --
synchrotron radiation versus inverse Compton scattered emission off the CMB --
have strongly diverging predictions for the X-ray fluxes for such high-redshift jets.
This is considered for the cases of X-ray/radio jets in 1745+624 (z=3.9) and GB1508+5714 (z=4.3),
though with such a small sample, it is apparent that future
studies targeted at very high-redshift jets are required for further
elucidation of this issue. This was impetus for a VLA program to search for
arcsecond-scale radio extensions from a sample of 30 of the highest-z (3.4--4.7)
radio-bright quasars to follow-up with Chandra, and results from this work are presented.
