A description for kernels of representations of semisimple Drinfeld doubles
$D(A)$ is given. Using this we also obtain a description of all normal Hopf
subalgebras of $D(A)$. As an application, kernels of irreducible
representations of $D(G)$ are computed and shown that they are all normal Hopf
subalgebras of $D(G)$.
