Jupiter Magnetosphere: Aurorae, Jupiter Magnetosphere: Io

Scientific paper

The author studies the radioelectric emissions of Jupiter in the frequency range 1 - 40 MHz with the decametric observatory of Nançay and the wind spacecraft. A wake in front of Io explains the ΦIo/CML (Central Meridian Longitude) chart. An appropriate coordinate system shows that the Io-controlled emissions occur mainly when Io is located in the northern magnetic hemisphere of Jupiter.
