Observations of some S-type stars in JHK bands are presented in this paper. Combined with normal M giants and carbon stars, some properties of S-type stars are shown in the two-color diagram. Relationship between periods and colors in the near infrared are obtained. In addition, a possibility of the determination of effective temperatures of S-type stars by using infrared colors is discussed.
