The elementary geometric properties of Jacob's ladders lead to a class of new
asymptotic formulae for short and microscopic parts of the Hardy-Littlewood
integral. This class of asymptotic formulae cannot be obtained by methods of
Balasubramanian, Heath-Brown and Ivic.
