An evaluation of CCD reflectance narrowband spectrophotometry of J VI Himalia indicates that this body is a C-class asteroid. If the theory that a parent asteroid had been captured and shattered into the four pieces now known as J VI Himalia, J VII Elara, J X Lysithea, and J XIII Leda, then by implication these other three moons of Jupiter will display a similar geological composition, as presently indicated.
