The authors report on a comparison of IUE high resolution spectrograms of six peculiar, early type main sequence stars classified as ON (or BN) with those of normal stars covering the same spectral class range. A differential curve-of-growth analysis using the N III-lines 1748, 1752 Å and the C III-line 1247 Å revealed for these peculiar stars nitrogen enrichments of about a factor of five and carbon depletions of about a factor of ten compared with the normal stars.
