The exploration and the understanding of the physical and chemical processes taking place in the complex atmosphere of Jupiter requires multiple techniques at a variety of wavelengths. In this contest is included the Italian scientific contribution to the Juno mission which consists in the supply of an imaging spectrometer, a contest visible camera and a transponder in Ka band. These instruments derive from a decennial long experience of Italian scientists and industries in space borne instrumentation. JIRAM (Jovian Infrared Auroral Mapper) is a 2-5 micron imaging spectrometer with a 2 band image channel optimized for the observation of the H3+ polar auroral emissions (at 2 and 5 microns). This instrument will explore the dynamics and chemistry of Jovian auroral regions by high contrast imaging and spectroscopy, will study Jovian hot spots through the troposphere so as to determine vertical structure and hence test formation mechanisms, will sound the Jupiter atmosphere to map water moist convection and determine the abundance of water and other constituents at depths corresponding to the water clouds. ITACAM, the contest and outreach camera will be devoted to obtain full disk images in visible colors of the planet from polar orbit. High performance Ka transponder will be essential in radio science experiments to accurately measure the gravity field of Jupiter.
