Recomputations of a previous calculation of auroral excitation have been made using different forms of geomagnetic dependence of electron trajectories. The results indicate that auroral profiles and luminosity ratios are insensitive to such forms, and that their variation depends to a greater degree on the isotropy of the particle flux. It is suggested that the inclusion of multiple scattering in a theoretical treatment of an isotropic beam would have similarly small effects.
