This paper describes the attitude determination algorithm developed for the ISO spacecraft ground control. The attitude determination task contains a star pattern recognition algorithm, using a star map generated by the spacecraft Star Tracker and required no a priori attitude estimates. Derivation of the algorithms for the attitude determination task is given. The practical implementation of the task within the overall ground control segment is also described.
