ISIS is a system for detecting sub-millimetric particles impacts in Earth orbit, based on piezoelectric sensors. The hardware has already been built, while the software relevant to the system microcontroller is presently being developed. The system should be tested on board a microsatellite built at the University of Rome ``La Sapienza'' in the frame of the UNISAT programme. However, as ISIS has been designed with an own microcontroller, it is easily adaptable to be flown on other satellites. This paper describes the system in detail.
