The study examines the systematic stellar velocity field of about 30,000 K-M giants in the heliocentric distance interval 0.5-1.0 kpc using the 3D Ogorodnikov-Milne model for the overall pattern analysis of the proper motions. A solution for the K-M giants that yields neither deformation nor vorticity field other than the classical ones (the Oort constants A and B) is obtained. The precessional correction previously proposed with modern techniques is confirmed by the pattern analysis of the proper motions. The present set of corrections indicates that the FK5 system, which has been constructed consistently with the 2D Oort-Lindblad model for the pattern analysis of the proper motions of 512 FK4 and FK4 Sup stars, is still rotating with the angular velocity +0.17 +/- 0.04 arcsec/Cent around the axis pointing to the direction (alpha = 18 h 00 min, delta = +50.5 deg).
