The images of BL Lac's AO 0235 + 164 obtained from multi-epoch VLBI observations at 5 GHz are presented. According to the results of VLBI observations, the expanding speeds of components of AO 0235 + 164 have been estimated. The maximum speed is about 27c. We infer that there is a rotation available for the jet of AO 0235 + 164 caused by the precession of the central engine. This inference may be confirmed with new multi-epoch observations. The space VLBI observations, which will be useful in discerning the fine structures of the central component of AO phi235 + 164, are needed. Corresponding simulation tests have been conducted.
