It is noted that RX Puppis seems to be returning rapidly to the conditions exhibited four decades ago. The strong and broad emission lines of He II, N III, and O II that appeared between March and December of 1979 are considered to indicate an appreciable increase in the degree of excitation. It is pointed out that the Balmer continuum is now strongly present in emission. The tentative classifications of RX Puppis are summarized together with the corroborating observational data.
