The analysis of International Time Service observations for 1971 - 1972 has shown notable non-regular oscillations of the angular velocity of the Earth's rotation with diurnal time scale. After eliminating personal and instrumental errors for several dates, the differences RT-Δ have the same signs for different instruments. Irregular oscillations of the mantle relative to the liquid core are suspected. Clock correction, when determined from star transits during 2 hours, cannot sometimes be better than ±0s.01.
