The present study uses a mathematical model to analyze the influence of stratospheric warming and inhomogeneities of the zonal-wind and temperature fields on the semidiurnal tide at heights of 80-100 km. It is shown that these factors (i.e., the stratospheric warming and the inhomogeneities) can explain the experimental data concerning the semidiurnal tide. The sensitivity of the tide to the vertical distribution of ozone in the stratosphere is examined.
