Infrared: Ism: Continuum, Ism: H Ii Regions

The 864 objects in the Sharpless H ii region catalog are extracted for association with the IRAS Point Source Catalog. Among them, 108 are found to have usable IRAS low-resolution spectra (LRS). The surrounded dust features of the Sharpless objects are classified by using the LRS. The vast majority of Sharpless objects with LRS have red or relatively red continua in the 8-23 μm region, showing much colder material. Only a small fraction of them have starlike dust features showing a trace of exciting or foreground stars.
