It is proposed that stationary ionization regions formed about UV Ceti stars are formed by ionizing X-rays emitted during stellar flares. This assumption is based not on experimental evidence but on analogy with processes taking place during solar flares. Attention is given to the contribution of the hot stellar corona to ionization of the interstellar gas, to the interaction of the stellar wind with interstellar matter leading to the formation of shock waves, and to a determination of the dimensions of the ionization region formed by X-rays. The possibility of detecting circumstellar H II regions is considered.
