An analysis is made of data on fluxes of H(+) ions and ions of the (C, N, O) group with different charges, obtained on the Gorizont (1985-07A) geostationary satellite during three moderate magnetic disturbances with Dst-variation amplitudes of several tens of nTl. It is shown that geomagnetic storms with pronounced main phases are accompanied by the intense injection of H(+) and (N, O)(2+) ion fluxes in the absence of appreciable increases in the fluxes of multiply charged (C, N, O) ion fluxes with energies of the order of 10 keV/e. These results indicate that the ionospheric plasma is the main source of ring-current particles in this energy range.
