Studies of the gamma radiation of Venusian rocks have been conducted with the aid of two Soviet space probes which landed on the planet's surface in October 1975. A description is presented of the instrumentation used during the studies, and the operational program is considered. The experiments permitted the determination of the counting rates of gamma quanta during the descent of the space probes in the Venusian atmosphere and after the landing on the planet's surface. The results of the studies are discussed. The contents of U, Th, and K in Venusian and terrestrial rocks are presented in a table.
